Accolade Cherry Standard Trees - Delivered by Mail Order from the Nursery with a 1 Year Guarantee

Accolade cherry, Prunus Accolade, is a petite, pink flowering tree, well suited to a small garden. It will grow on most well drained soils, preferably rich ones, and although it is a hardy tree, we recommend planting it in sheltered, sunny places.
Accolade cherry trees can reach a height of about 5-10 metres.

How Standard Trees are Measured:
All the plants in the ornamental trees section are graded as standards, which means that they are measured by their girth in centimetres 1 metre above ground level (basically, their trunk's waist measurement). They aren't measured by their height, which will vary. So, a 6/8 standard has a trunk with a circumference of 6-8 centimetres and an 8/10 standard has a trunk 8-10 centimetres around. This measurement makes no difference to the tree's final height.
Standard trees are 2 - 3.5 metres tall (on average) when they arrive. We cannot tell you precisely how tall your trees will be before we deliver them.

General description of Accolade cherry trees:
Accolade is a slender tree that grows to 8 metres on average, with a fairly sparse canopy that doesn't cast much shade. It blooms heavily in spring, with rich pink buds opening into variably pink-white flowers. On a mild year, you may get a few flowers appearing in Autumn and Winter. Like most cherry trees, the autumn colour is rich and vivid, with plenty of red and orange on show.

History & uses of Prunus Accolade
The Accolade cherry was bred from Prunus sargentii and Prunus x subhirtella sometime around 1950. It has won several awards from the RHS, including an Award of Garden Merit for being attractive & easy to grow.
