Hedge Packs: All Seasons Hedging
Our All Seasons mix is sold in packs of 50 is intended to provide hedging that has interest throughout the year. The pack has 10% each of 10 species chosen by us from hedging plants such as Crab Apple, Cherry Plum, Field Maple, Forsythia, Wild Pear, Philadelphus, Wild Rose, Purple Berberis, Dogwood, Amelanchier, Hazel, Wild Privet, Blackthorn, Hawthorn etc.
This is not a stock proof hedge such our Conservation Hedging mix or our Hawthorn hedging packs. Instead All Seasons Hedging, which will grow in practically any soil except a bog, is primarily decorative and attractive to wildlife. Nevertheless it looks best using the same spacing as the thorn based hedge packs.
We recommend planting at 3 per metre in a single row, and 5 per metre in a double row. A pack of 50 is therefore good for 10 metres of double row and 17 metres of single. If you are unsure about planting a hedge please have a look at our film on How to Plant a Country Hedge.
Please note that because of the range of hedging plants included the pack cannot be stock friendly and the plants are sized at 40/80cms.
