Cornus alba Sibirica - Scarlet Dogwood

Cornus alba Sibirica, also known as Cornus Westonbirt, is a large deciduous shrub with green leaves that turn red and orange in the autumn. Sibirica dogwood's primary feature however is its brilliant scarlet bark which provides much needed winter colour and can light up the dreariest day.

Ornamental Use: Read about hard pruning (coppicing) Dogwood.

Like most dogwoods, Cornus alba Westonbirt is happiest planted in good soil with a tendency to dampness.
