Ebony is a high yielding blackcurrant with a remarkably sweet flavour.
The fruit is huge (for a blackcurrant) often twice the size of other varieties and when ripe it is easily sweet enough to eat without sugar. Should you have too many, Ebony blackcurrants freeze extremely well. Cropping is from early July onwards.
As with all currants, Ebony Blackcurrants are best grown in rows with 1.40 metres between plants and 1.5 metres between rows.
