You can order anytime of year to reserve your plants, even
if you don't want delivery for months. This helps ensure you get
what you want before it sells out. We will only charge your card
on the day before delivery. Cancelling an order before then is
always easy because we haven't taken any money, but it must be
done by email.
Please Contact us if you need help with an order that you have placed online.
Get in touch right away if there is any problem with your plants either at delivery or in the months after planting.
The law surrounding the sale of living plants is hazy. The truth is that plants usually die because they were planted or looked after incorrectly. It's generally not because there was anything wrong with them when delivered. However we are concerned with your peace of mind and our guarantee means you have nothing to lose. If you are not happy with your plants when you inspect them after delivery, call or email us immediately & we will arrange for them to be collected. We guarantee all the plants you buy from us that are then planted in the UK for 12 months after you receive them. If your plants die, you only have to pay for the delivery of the replacements.
There is one exception to our Guarantee - we cannot guarantee your plants if you have a hose pipe ban in your area.
It is essential to water plants in dry weather while they are establishing.
The only thing we ask for are good quality photographs of the dead plants in the ground:Close-ups of the dead plants themselves, showing the leaves, stems and where they go into the soil. Broader shots of the planting area, showing all of the dead plants.
We will use these photographs to help work out what went wrong, so your replacements don't die too!
This is our guarantee, there's no hidden catch, but we have to spell it out in legal jargon below.
Delivery Timescales:The next week for delivery is shown in the "Latest delivery info" box at the foot of every page
Minimum Order: £15 before delivery & VAT.
How much does Delivery Cost?
All retail deliveries are charged at £6.50 plus VAT Except:
One delivery charge applies, irrespective of the size of the order.
Where do we deliver?
Anywhere on mainland UK and the Isle of Wight (please note surcharge mentioned above).
We do not deliver to any other offshore destinations (including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly etc)
Do I have to sign for my delivery?
Unless your order is over £250.00, or to a "high risk area" (i.e. inner city post codes), we will leave your parcels safely, without a signature if no one is at home.
When will my order be delivered?
Delivery date confirmations show the date of the Monday of the week of the delivery.
We do not promise to deliver on any particular day of a week and we may deliver a couple of days early.
What weather conditions can I plant in?
You cannot plant when the soil is frozen and it is best not to plant when the ground is waterlogged.
What happens if there is a delay between delivery & planting?
Your bareroot plants will be packed so they can safely be left in their wrapping for 10-14 days before planting.
If you cannot heel them in, store them in a cold place, ideally outdoors, not protected from frost but out of direct sunlight.
Leave them to freeze outside, but do not move them around when they are frozen.
If planting is delayed for a week or two, we advise unwrapping them just enough to get a hose in and wet down the roots to make sure they stay moist.
Do not leave your plants sitting in a bucket of water: roots like to be slightly moist, not drowned!
Pot-grown plants can be stored for weeks during winter without much attention & in summer with watering every other day.
These are our terms and conditions of sale which will apply to all contracts with our customers. These terms and conditions prevail over and are to the exclusion of all other contractual terms unless expressly agreed by us in writing. Our Sales Order Confirmation is the governing document for all orders. We e-mail these to all customers on receipt of order and on receipt of any variation or amendment to an existing order. Please check your Sales Order Confirmation as we will deliver in accordance with it.
