Invicta Gooseberry Plants - Cooking Goseberries

Invicta gooseberry bushes carry the classic green cooking gooseberry. Invicta is probably the heaviest fruiting gooseberry available today. The fruit stays firm when cooked and the plant is vigorous, spreading and thorny, but disease resistant. Cropping is early, starting at the end of May (depending on location)

Invicta is probably the best gooseberry bush for growing on wires (ideal for allotments or where space is restricted).

All our gooseberry plants are strong, 2 year old bare-rooted bushes with between 3-5 shoots each. When planting gooseberries leave 140 cms between plants and 150cms between rows.

Characteristics of Invicta Gooseberry Bushes:

  • Almost Thornless (a few fairly soft spines on new wood).
  • Self-fertile.
  • Green/yellow, cooking.
  • Crops steadily from late May to mid June.
  • Mildew resistant.
