Pin Oak Trees - Quercus palustris

Pin Oak or Quercus pallustris is one of the most graceful oaks. The slender branches of the Pin Oak gently droop at the tips. The oak illustrated on the cover of Thomas Hardy's "Under the Greenwood Tree" is generally a Pin Oak. A large tree, with a pyramidal habit, the Pin Oak also boasts fantastic rich scarlet autumn foliage. At its best a mature Pin Oak is one of the most statuesque broadleaves. Pin Oaks are good in parkland or lake side settings and some of the larger avenues are palnted with Pin Oaks. To 25m
