Green Privet - Ligustrum ovalifolium
Green Privet hedging grows rapidly forgiving the odd slip with shears or trimmer and has very dense foliage that tolerates extreme atmospheric pollution.
Green Privet or Ligustrum ovalifolium is a large evergreen shrub, that carries medium-sized dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers in summer. All these combine to make it an absolutely outstanding hedge plant. A green privet hedge will grow in any soil except chalk and tolerates quite deep shade and dry poor soil. Being evergreen in all but the hardest winters, green privet also provides cover for game and small animals.
Clip privet hedging or topiary into shape whenever needed. Plant in a single row at 2-3 per metre. Best for hedges of 12 metres.
