Description

Thiacloprid - Systemic Bug Killer

Provado Ultimate Bug Killer is a systemic insecticide containing thiacloprid. It enters the plant you want to treat and kills the insects that feed on it. It has been approved as safe for vegetable and soft fruit crops.

Systemic insecticides have these benefits over contact insecticides, which stay on the surface of a plant.

  • More Effective: Kills insects on a plant wherever they are hiding.
  • Longer Lasting: One application protects for 4-6 weeks.
  • Easy to Apply: Treating part of the plant will treat all of it.
  • Kills insects attacking roots without harming the soil.
  • Safer for Environment: Much less will wash off into the soil.
Safety for Use on Soft Fruit Bushes & Food Crops: 3 days is the advised minumum period for soft fruit & veg or veg to be harvested after using thiacloprid.
A 2009 study in Greece with tomatoes showed that they were safe to eat only 2 days after (depending on whether they were given a normal or double dose).

We must strongly advise you to abide by the 30 day minimum waiting period before you harvest - these crops are sure to be safe.

Bees and Insecticides: The most important rule of insecticides is to never use them during or in the month before the flowering period of the plant you want to treat. This small consideration makes a big difference to our bees!

When using a spray, the best time to spray is in the early morning before the day warms up and bees become active. Always choose a windless day to spray.

Eco-Friendly Tip for Bird Lovers: Simply covering your plants with a net (or possibly using a bird scarer) for some days after applying any pesticide will keep the birds from eating something they shouldn't. A bird would need to eat loads of dead bugs to get a fatal dose, but let's save them from finding out how many!
