Rosie Strawberries

Rosie Strawberry - Early cropping

Rosie strawberry plants are nearly as early as Christine, beginning to fruit from about 10th June onwards. A Rosie strawberry is completely different to Christine. Much smaller individual fruits carried in larger numbers. - The size makes them ideal for decorating cakes... The flavour is very full and the flesh is softer than Christine. Rosie strawberry plants will crop better if they are picked over frequently. As with all our strawberry varieties, Rosie strawberries have good resistance.

Early cropping strawberry plants like polythene underfoot and you can help bring fruiting forward a bit by covering with fleece. Using cloches from February onwards to cover strawberry plants will accelerate fruitng by 3-4 weeks.
