Sunset Apple - Dessert

Browse all our apple trees here or read our guide to buying the right apple tree.

Sunset apple trees produce masses of small red and gold flushed eaters, that are often grown as a Cox substitute. They have a similar flavour - perhaps not as deep - nothing is - but Sunset apple trees are altogether easier to grow. Sunset is a Kentish apple so it juices well and has been known to make sweet, strong cider...

This is also a pretty disease resistant tree, that crops rreliably and the fruit stores well. It is a mid-season flowering self fertile apple which means it will carry some fruit if it self pollinates although crops are always better if it is cross pollinated. To read more about apple pollination including suitable pollinators for Sunset apples please take a look at our Guide to Fruit Pollination. Use October-December

Please note that cordons of this variety are on MM106 rootstocks.
