Sycamore Saplings - Delivered by Mail Order from the Nursery with a 1 Year Guarantee

Sycamore, Acer pseudoplatanus, is a large tree that makes a superb windbreak for very exposed locations, especially by the sea.
Sycamore can, in theory, be grown as a hedge but we don't really recommend it for this
Sycamore trees can reach 35-40 metres tall.
The plants on this page are young saplings, ideal for large scale planting or in woodland projects. You can also buy larger Sycamore trees here.
Browse all of our other varieties of Maple Trees & Hedging plants for sale here.

Sycamore Saplings are only delivered bareroot, during winter (Nov-March).

Choosing a size:
When you are ordering lots of Sycamore plants, we generally recommend that buy the smaller sizes, graded at 40/60cms or 60/80cms. They are cheaper than large plants, easier to handle and they will establish well in poor conditions.
Use the larger 120/150cm tall plants if you want a big tree quickly.
All our Saplings are measured by their height in centimetres above the ground (the roots aren't measured).

General description of Sycamore plants:
Sycamore, Acer pseudoplatanus, is an impressive, fast-growing, large, deciduous tree. The foliage is bright green with beautiful autumn tints and Sycamore trees will grow in any fertile soil except very wet sites.

History & uses of Acer pseudoplatanus:
Its wood carves well and has long been used for all sorts of small items, especially eating utensils. Sycamore is not a true native, but it has been naturalised in Britain for a thousand years or more.
