  • Varieties of Lime / Linden Trees - Tilia Species

Limes or Lindens are vigorous, tough, medium to large sized trees that are happy being pollarded and generally cut back hard, which makes them perfect for planting beside the road in the city, where space is limited.
Lime trees will grow on any averagely fertile soil. They are hardy, suitable for exposed locations and immune to air pollution.
Lime trees aren't suitable for normal clipped hedging, but they are easy trees to pleach along wires. One of the best varieties for this is Tilia x euchlora, which you can buy "flat headed", ready to pleach.
Linden trees grow to 15-35 metres tall.

Hello, and THANK YOU !! I am very pleased with the hedging plants I received, they are strong well branched plants that have obviously been pruned to aid their development and have great root systems. We will be recommending your plants to friends and clients, (daughter has a landscaping business).
