12 Days Of Christmas Competition

Starting with your Partridges in Pear Trees, enter the Ashridge Nurseries ‘12 days of Christmas’ competition. Write new lines to go with each day of the famous Christmas carol.

Find a plant from our site that you think is most appropriate for each day in the song. The best new words will be published here and you will win a 20% discount voucher off our whole range of trees.

If you need a re-cap here's the original song:

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

Partridge in a pear tree is way too obvious so how about:

    '12 prunes a pruning
    11 elm trees elfing
    10 yews a bleating (geddit!)
    9 peaches fuzzing
    8 apples bobbing
    7 hazels hanging
    6 walnuts whipping
    5 plums a leaking
    5 pears a doubling
    4 beeches reaching
    3 goozgogs goosing
    2 nordmans gnawing
    And a rhubarb in a cru-u-mble!
