But not another decorative fork and trowel set with floral design handle and little practical use, or that grainy, green organic soap, please<\/h2>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get serious and define gardening up front here, as it relates to the garden owner: the purpose of gardening is to provide you with an agreeable place to drink in, or for the kids to play in while you drink inside and play cards.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, the Somerset Hamper Company makes a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.somersethamperco.co.uk\/product\/gardening\/\">very cute gardener&#8217;s hamper<\/a> with cute little tools for those who love cute things, but that&#8217;s not at the heart of what gardens mean to most people:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/drinking-in-garden-christmas-present.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11491\"><figcaption>&#8220;Ah, it&#8217;s great to get some gardening done <sips champagne=\"\">, what are you up to, love?&#8221;, &#8220;Practicing my ninja fork throws with this trowel from the gift hamper uncle Benjamin gave me, dear&#8221;, &#8220;Heh, nice.&#8221;<\/sips><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Drinks Make The Best Garden Christmas Presents<\/h3>\n<p>You always know they&#8217;ll want the same again next year, maybe just a different bottle.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ancient Nordic Wisdom, &#8220;Love brings grief in its wake: only alcohol brings happiness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Top of the list are alcoholic beverages, then tea bags, and coffee whatever you like, depends on whether the recipient has a pod machine these days. The perfectly balanced food is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.somersetcharcuterie.com\/product\/somerset-cider-chorizo-with-smoked-paprika-med-approx-260g\/\">Somerset Cider Chorizo<\/a>, which provides all the meatro-nutrients required to sustain a minimum level of beach body.<\/p>\n<p>For people who were born vegan, <a href=\"https:\/\/westlandsuk.co.uk\/product\/growing-petite-wheatgrass\/\">Westlands Worcestershire Wheatgrass<\/a> has got you covered.<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s all fine, but again it misses the point for so many people. <br \/>Sure, we go into the garden to recharge our fuel cells with appropriate fluids, and sometimes we do it with other people, but they have to be really nice for it to work long term.<\/p>\n<p>People can be unreliably nice at best, but you don&#8217;t get that with birds; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Cw9yxL_cbgI\">all the birds talk too, they\u2019ve just got much better things to say<\/a>, that&#8217;s why we&#8217;re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MWfQZRfpq3s\">talking to the birds<\/a> all day.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/drinking-in-garden-christmas-present-bird-food.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11492\"><figcaption>Finally, some pleasant, well dressed company around here.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Yes, Somerset grade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.somersetwildlife.org\/get-involved\/at-home\/wildlife-gardening\/vine-house-farm\">bird food<\/a> is the ideal compliment to beverage based presents that feed the gardeners soul.<\/p>\n<h3>Which Plants Should I Buy A Gardener for Christmas?<\/h3>\n<p>There are two sensible answers here: &#8220;serious plants&#8221; that they ask for and want, and &#8220;you can&#8217;t be serious plants&#8221; that make them laugh, like a mighty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/products\/english-oak-sapling-plants-quercus-robur\">Oak sapling<\/a> for someone with a balcony garden, or possibly hit you, like a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/products\/buxom-beauty-hybrid-tea-rose-plants\">Buxom Beauty rose<\/a> for someone recovering from breast cancer. <br \/>Some of you have a gallows sense of humour, we do not judge.<\/p>\n<p>Our range of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/collections\/garden-gifts\">gift wrapped plants<\/a> is largely sold out now for Christmas and anyway delivery will be in the New Year.
