Its leaves look best in sheltered areas, strong winds tend to damage them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Best Deciduous Hedge Plants for Shade<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>For formal hedges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/collections\/hornbeam-hedging-plants-carpinus\">Hornbeam<\/a> is the premium choice for shady sites, and it tolerates pretty much any soil<\/li>\n<li>For native country hedges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/products\/hawthorn-hedge-plants-crataegus-monogyna\">Hawthorn<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/products\/common-hazel-hedge-plants-corylus-avellana\">Hazel<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgetrees.co.uk\/products\/wild-common-privet-hedge-plants-ligustrum-vulgare\">Wild Privet<\/a> are probably the best native plants for a seriously shady North-facing slope.
