Homemade Elderflower Cordial Recipe<\/h2>

Late May – June is Elderflower time!<\/p>

Elderflower cordial<\/strong> in the shops is expensive and can be a bit sickly sweet. This homemade recipe makes great cordial and, with the use of Camden tablets your cordial will stay fresh for a long time. <\/p>

We also have a recipe for Elderflower Champagne<\/a> (we call it “pop”), and later in the year, elderberry syrup<\/a>.<\/p>

Here is Elderflower growing wild on the branch in its natural habitat: my photography booth in the shed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>

You can pick ripe flowers from Elder<\/a> (you’ll often find it growing in country hedging<\/a>) around the end of May, when they smell sweet and develop a faint yellow-ish hue. Having three or four mature bushes around will give you enough flowers to keep a large family in elderflower cordial all year.<\/p>
