Description

About La Rose de Molinard (Delgrarose)

La Rose de Molinard hybrid tea rose plants are one of the very few full-size roses that do well in a large container, creating soft, traditional and reliable floral accompaniments to large patios or garden terraces. This is one of the reasons it won an AGM. Also good in the border, La Rose de Molinard is one of the most versatile roses we grow and sell. Reaching around 4 feet in height and spread, and a continuous and prolific flowerer, these are truly striking centre-pieces. The blooms themselves are a cupped shape in a gorgeous shade of pink which darkens slightly towards the fringes, with a strong fruity scent of with tones of iris and violet.

The combination of traditional appearance, magnificent bloom and healthy resilience makes La Rose de Molinard, just one out of our fantastic range of rose plants, a perfect addition to any garden.

Great for your garden

Hardy and adaptable, this rose is suitable for almost any position in the garden to provide interest and scent and will survive the hardship of the worst British winter unfazed. They are bushy and provide an almost continual display through the flowering season. La Rose de Molinard is the ideal garden and shrubbery plant, but its versatility means that it can also be used to frame borders and climb trellises.

Due to its traits, this rose is suitable for almost anywhere in your garden. Cultivation is relatively straightforward, requiring only the most basic care necessary for a rose. This makes La Rose de Molinard an ideal choice for adding beauty to those harder-to-reach spots. That said, its thick foliage and abundant flowering also make it most suitable as a centre-piece or potted patio shrub.

Planting Instructions

How to plant La Rose de Molinard

La Rose de Molinard roses should be planted over the winter months, between late autumn and early spring. They are suited to any well-drained soil, but digging some well-rotted garden compost into the planting area beforehand helps. Using Rootgrow when planting will also give your plant a terrific start in its new home.

Fully grown these roses will spread to around 4ft, and should be allowed the necessary space to grow into as they mature. If planting into pots, it is worth noting that the roots of this rose, as with most, grow deep and need plenty of space to allow the plant to reach its fullest, healthiest size. The soil should be kept moist but well-drained throughout flowering and the plants should be fed well with a good quality rose feed at the beginning of the season.

La Rose de Molinard should be planted in partial to full sun for best results, but being fully hardy and very vigorous will grow in almost any aspect except one facing north. It does not like being under trees. Expect flowering continuously from around May until the first frosts. Weeding should be done carefully by hand or with a fork or hoe to avoid root damage. Weeds can be reduced and kept at bay by mulching.
