Great for your garden

Like most climbers, Cecile Brunner roses are happiest trained against a wall or trellis. The plant is pretty tough but flowers best in full sun. The flowers themselves relatively small (they make wonderful buttonholes) but there is no shortage of them sitting amongst the deep green foliage when in bloom.

Look out for

While Cecile Brunner is very disease resistant, it can suffer from black spot and mildew in poor summers. Aphids can be a nuisance.

How to plant Cecile Brunner roses

Cecile Brunner climbing roses are relatively easy to grow.
Plant bare root roses in autumn or early winter, avoid frozen ground.
These climbers prefer to be planted in full sun in a sheltered place, ideally next to a wall.
Likes most moist, well drained soil and rewards extra organic matter
Top dress with rose fertiliser every spring
Flowers in flushes throughout the summer and autumn.
Pruning is best left until after flowering in late autumn.
