Autumn Bliss - Late Season Raspberry
Autumn Bliss raspberry canes carry the lastest fruit of them all. Cropping slowly in August, Autumn Bliss picks up the pace in September. In Indian summers, raspberries can still be picked in the first week of October….
The Autumn Bliss raspberry cane is short, sturdy and spiny. It need little support, so it is generally not necessary to grow it on horizontal wires unless your soft fruit garden is in a particularly windy spot.
Raspberries are classified as early, mid-season, late and autumn fruiting (like Autumn Bliss) depending on when the bulk of their crop is ready for picking. A little like roses, raspberries produce a first, large flush of fruit - about 50% of the total in the first 2-4 weeks of fruiting followed bymuch slower production for the rest of their season. To have a continuous supply, therefore, it is necessary to have some of each type. Autumn Bliss is best planted with about 60cms between plants in all directions. All our raspberry plants are supplied as bare rooted canes.
