We grow the two most best English Lavender Plants for the British climate, Munstead and Hidcote.
Lavender loves dry, windy places in the sun and hates damp soil and shade.
Lavender plants give you great flowers, attractive
evergreen foliage and a scented garden.
These are blue to purple english lavender
plants, Lavandula angustifolia, which is the hardiest variety, suitable for planting outside in the UK. It is ideal for low, fragrant, decorative hedging.
Lavender plants make
an excellent edge to a rose border or herb or vegetable garden.
They soften landscaping like terraces or
paths.
Lavender hedges or rows can bring colour, structure
and scent to your garden.
It is beautiful from spring to autumn and tidies up nicely for the winter.
Protecting your lavender in winter:
Lavender is a mediterranean plant and although it is quite hardy, it pays to keep the snow off it in winter. When there is a snow forecast, you can cover your lavender with a sheet for the night and then flick the snow off in the morning. Use sticks or bamboo
to hold up the sheet into a / shape if heavy snow is on the way.
