Native Hedge Plants Ideal for Country Hedges
Networks of native hedging are the backbone of Britain's ecosystems, acting as both a home and a highway for hundreds of insect, bird and other animal species. They are the hardiest, most robust plants around, edible and stockproof. Even if you don't live in the countryside, native hedge plants provide secure hedging at great value for money.
You have the choice of selecting your own personal combination of plants or going for our ready made native hedging packs, which come with a friendly discount (for making our job easier in the packing shed).
Hawthorn is the main ingredient in a mixed native hedge; not only is it cheap, it gives rigidity to the hedge and leads the way in wildlife value with its plentiful flowers and the bunches of small red fruit that follow. In our opinion, a country hedge is completed by wild roses - we might randomly include some in our mixes and you should order a few more if you like to see lots of rose blossom - there are plenty to choose from, have a look through our selection and see what takes your fancy.
