Rootstocks: Cherry trees, like all edible fruit trees, are propagated by taking cuttings from an adult tree and grafting them onto a rootstock. The rootstock used will determine the tree's rate of growth and adult size. We use Colt rootstocks, which are as close as it gets to being universal. They give you the choice of training your cherry tree into just about any shape you like and, if you have the space and just want a normal cherry tree, it won't grow taller than 4-5 metres - perfect for a big crop that is mostly in reach from a stepladder.
Delivery information: The planting and delivery season for edible cherry trees is November through to February. You can place an order at any time for delivery at the beginning of the following season. We will not charge your card until your plants are about to be shipped.
