Fruit Trees: Maiden, Bush, Cordon and Half Standard
Dear Customer: Now that the winter bareroot season is over, you can only plant Fruit Trees from our Potted Selection, which contains most of our range. If you don't see what you want in there, you can place an order from the list of barerooted plants below for delivery next winter.
Apples, Cherries, Chestnuts, Damsons, Hazelnuts, Pears, Plums and Walnuts are all here. All of our fruit trees are available barerooted and so are preferable to (and cheaper than) their container grown equivalents as they tend to be bigger plants with a stronger root system that usually establishes more rapidly. However, barerooted stock can only be planted in the winter, so we can also provide most of our range in pots during the rest of the year. We use MM106 rootstocks
for our apples and equivalent rootstocks for the other topfruit, which gives you the most options for training your trees. These all produce half standard fruit trees about 4-5 metres tall, a bush about 3 metres tall and are ideal if you want to train your fruit trees as Cordons, Fans or Espaliers.
You can find further information on choosing the right fruit tree in our guides on Fruit Tree Pollination while we cover Cordons, Fans etc in Fruit
Tree Shapes and Pruning and there are a few tips on getting your fruit tree off to a good start in Planting Trees.
You will find our topfruit listed alphabetically below - all the Apple Trees are together and Apple Trees - Crispin comes before Apple Trees - Jupiter. If you are interested in berries and currants then why not have a browse in our Soft Fruit section?
