Bareroot rose bushes were grafted about 2 years prior to delivery, and were cut back hard leaving around 30-40cm of top growth, which will encourage strong regrowth from the base.

Standard or "tree roses" have a clear stem 100cm tall.

Pot sizes are measured by their volume in litres, except for the smallest size, 9cm / p9 pots, which are roughly half a litre.

Description

Rosa Dorothy Perkins Rambling Rose

Description of Dorothy Perkins Roses:
This classic pink rambling rose is really vigorous, great for sprawling over tall fences or through trees, and it also forms a large, arching shrub. The flowers are small, with a faint scent, appearing in tight clusters and the leaves are glossy. When established, it is very drought tolerant. It has some susceptibility to mildew, however, which tends to be exacerbated by dry weather stressing the plant.

History and Parentage:

An American variety from 1901 or 1902. It was bred from Rosa wichuriana and Gabriel Luizet by E. Alvin Miller, the foreman at Jackson & Perkins Nursery in Newark, New York. At the time, the company mostly sold other plants, and Mr Miller had been cross-breeding their roses as a hobby in his lunch break and slow periods. Dorothy Perkins proved to be extremely popular, and as a result the company pivoted to specialise in rose breeding, producing dozens of successful varieties, and coining the name Floribunda. Since then, the company has grown and is now located in California.
