Description

Natchez Blackberry Bushes

Natchez is a really handy little plant. Compact, upright and thornless, it comes into season early. The berries are big and quite firm, with an excellent fruity burst flavour.

Browse our blackberry bushes or our full range of soft fruit plants.

Features:

  • Self-fertile.
  • Thornless.
  • Upright growth, needs little support.
  • Fruit weight is around 3.5g
  • Rich & sweet - one of our favourites!
  • Crops from late July for about 4 weeks.

Growing Natchez Blackberry Plants:

Generally, blackberries are grown trailing along wires, but Natchez is an upright variety and a single support wire on either side of the row is enough to stop the cane from flopping over as the fruit ripens, like with most raspberries. You could grow an individual one up a single post with a hoop.
Spacing: You can plant Natchez quite close together in a row. 4' / 1.2 metres apart is more than enough.
