Malus domestica Crispin - Cooking Apples

The Crispin apple is sometimes known as the "oven buster" because of its size.  It is an outstanding cooker and makes outstanding apple sauce. Uncooked Crispins are good eaters and also make top notch cider and apple sauce. The green fruit ripens yellow, looking like a large Golden Delicious but with a sweet, honeyed flavour. Infertile. Use September-October.
