Forsythia intermedia Spectabilis is the most popular Forsythia hedging plant and it also makes an excellent specimen shrub, suitable for any garden or soil type.
Forsythia is good for hedges up to about 4 metres high.
Forsythia hedge plants are only delivered bareroot, during winter (Nov-March).
All our hedge plants are measured by their height in centimetres above the ground (the roots aren't measured).

General description of Forsythia plants:
Forsythias are very popular large shrub: easy to maintain, frost hardy, tolerant of poor soils and covered in golden yellow flowers in early spring (March - April). Forsythia Spectabilis is one of the most heavily flowering varieties.
It looks great in a mixed border, shrubbery, by a front door or in a hedge, either by itself or mixed with other plants.
History & uses of Forsythia intermedia Spectabilis:
Forsythia x intermedia is a hybrid of Forsythia suspensa and Forsythia viridissima. This particular cultivar was discovered in 1906.
