Forsythia Hedge Plants

Forsythias are very popular large shrub - easy to maintain, very cold hardy, tolerant of poor soils and covered in golden yellow flowers in early spring (March - April). Forsythia Spectabilis is one of the most heavily flowering varieties.
It looks great in a mixed border, shrubbery, by a front door or in a hedge, either by itself or mixed with other plants.

Growing Forsythia: Once it is established, your plants will do well in the dry, poor soil which is often found next to houses. They don't like wet soil or deep shade - half a day of full sun is enough.
Trimming a Forsythia Hedge: After flowering in spring & again in late summer.

Will reach about 4m. You can hard prune it if it gets too big or if the flowers become less plentiful - this won't be an issue if you are trimming it as a hedge.
