UK-Grown English Lavender Plants for Sale
Our English lavender plants (Lavandula angustifolia) are the classic choice to lend cottage charm to British borders, hedges and pots. As the hardiest lavender variety, it’s suitable for most gardens across the country.
It forms neat, evergreen shrubs with fragrant foliage and richly scented flowers that are loved by pollinators. Hardy, drought-tolerant once established, and easy to keep in shape, English lavender suits everything from formal hedging to informal cottage gardens. With correct care, plants can thrive for up to a decade before needing replacement.

Choosing the Right English Lavender
Choosing a variety:
English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is the most reliable and widely grown lavender species in the UK. Forgiving and adaptable, it’s suitable for most British gardens, and the variety can be chosen based on appearance.
- Hidcote – Deep purple flowers, compact habit; the most popular choice
- Munstead – Slightly paler flowers, excellent scent and reliability
- Arctic snow – the only white flowering English variety
- Jean davis / rosea – the traditional English pink variety
In our opinion, English lavenders are the best choice for cooking and aromatherapy, with their sweeter and more soothing tones. Dutch lavender offers more intense camphor-rich fragrance, suitable for pot pourri and insect repellents, while French lavender is prized for its striking flowers.
