About Wildlife & Ecology Trees

A native tree doesn't just grow in your garden — it becomes part of the wider living world. A single mature oak can support over 280 species of insect. A rowan provides pollen in spring and berries for fieldfares and redwings in autumn. A hawthorn manages both, then throws in an impenetrable nesting hedge for good measure.

Native British trees were our founding speciality back in 1949, and we've been growing them ever since — we know the stock inside out. Our wildlife range includes field maple, hawthorn, crab apple, rowan, wild cherry, silver birch, hazel, elder and English oak, available from forestry transplant size right through to large standards. Whether you're planting a single tree to anchor a border or making a start on a new native woodland, this is the right place to begin.
