Growing Triple Crown Blackberries
Blackberries are an incredibly versatile soft fruit, thriving in almost all soil types, although they'll suffer in waterlogged conditions. Triple Crown produces the heaviest crops in full sun, but can be grown in light shade making it an excellent choice for many gardens.
Position plants 3m apart and water well in dry conditions. Mulch with organic matter in spring and tie into a wire framework to support the plant and make berries easier to pick.
History & Trivia
Released to nurseries in 1996, Triple Crown was given its name for its three areas of excellence: the vigorous growing habit of this thornless blackberry, the high productivity and the sweetness of the fruit. It's related to 'Black Satin' and 'Chester Thornless'.
