A wonderful blend of colours, it would be hard not to find a place in your garden for at least one Burlesca Dahlia although they look even better planted in groups of three. The 6cm apricot pompom blooms on compact plants are shaded with dusky pink and yellow, turning plum as they age. This combination seems to fit perfectly with most colour schemes but if you would like dahlias in a single colour then you will find them in the rest of our range of dahlias for sale. The tightly inrolled petals form a honeycomb pattern and the slim stems turn crimson as they mature, held above attractive mid-green foliage.
Dahlia Burlesca has excellent weather tolerance, flowering profusely until the first frosts.
This is one of the most versatile of dahlias. At a compact 1m tall, it goes well in a container and the small flower heads aren't destroyed as easily as larger varieties in windy spots.
It is wonderful for cutting, especially when mixed with large-flowered dahlias in darker colours. Don't forget, the more you pick, the more flower buds are produced!
The masses of nodding little globes really add new elements to a mixed border, providing both colour and movement. Be sure to keep them well fed and watered, especially during dry spells.
