Willow Plants for Sale: Salix Varieties

Willow Hedging

Willow is too vigorous to ever be a formal hedge, but is really versatile as a shaggy, wild hedge, fedge (a fence-y kind of hedge), windbreak, or something more advanced like bowers, arbours, and other creative structures like a living sofa. If you want to get adventurous, the best varieties for sculpting with willow are Violet Willow, Scarlet Willow, Osier Willow, and Purple Willow

Willow is, along with dogwood, a go-to choice for really wet sites that are prone to waterlogging.
