Madame Isaac Pereire is a Shrub Rose with great big crimson-pink blooms that open out backwards as well as forwards. Strong, fruity fragrance with hints of raspberry. Can be encouraged to climb. Will repeat through the summer with diligent deadheading. To 6ft, maybe 8.
Recommended for cooler parts of the UK, as it can be prone to mildew in dry Southern summers.

Bred by Armand Garçon in 1876 in Rouen, Normandy. Originally named Le Bienheureux de la Salle, it was renamed after the widow of the French banker Isaac Pereire, who had recently died when it was brought to market by Margottin Père & Fils nursery in 1881.
