Description

About Madame Plantier shrub roses

Madame Plantier shrub roses are a gorgeous early-summer flowerer. Like many shrub roses, she has quite lax growth and so works as well as a smallish climber as it does as a bush. The medium sized, white blooms are non-repeating, but appear in clouds in early summer. A perfect introduction to summer following the winter frosts, they are very sweetly scented, beautifully formed and almost entirely without thorns.

She is medium sized, reaching around 5 feet in height and spread when grown as a shrub, or between 8 and 10 feet when used as a climber. The flowers are creamy white in colour with a green central eye and reaching around 4" across. The growth and foliage are hardy but quite dainty.

She will need a little support grown either way, but they need little else. This is an undemanding and highly enjoyable addition to your collection. It stands as just one out of our fantastic range of roses.

Great for your garden

Being reasonably hardy and a stunning early summer flowerer, Madame Plantier is ideal for adding interest into most areas of the garden. Flurries of buxom blooms adorn this easy-to-maintain shrub during flowering, or, trained well, they will climb beautifully to cascade over short trellises and wall runs. Cultivation of this rose is relatively straightforward, requiring little more than some pruning, and training if being used to climb. Its strong, sweet scent, low thorn count and ease-of-care makes her great for adding beauty to the front of borders or for adorning trellises in high-traffic areas.
