These really are a masterpiece of a plant: they are low-growing, hardy and evergreen perennials covered in glorious displays of white flowers with pink to yellow centres from May through to September. They thrive in sunny, well drained sites. When not in bloom, they make excellent, mat-forming ground cover. To 30cm x 50cm.

Delivery season: Iberis plants are delivered in pots year round, when in stock.

Growing Masterpiece Iberis

These hardy mountain plants require full sun and well-drained, gritty and neutral to alkaline soil. Trim after flowering.

Please note: If you receive your plants in late Autumn or during winter, it is better not to plant them outside until the weather warms up in Spring. They won't establish well in cold soil, and there is a small risk of them failing as a result.

An evergreen must for any rockery, you can also plant in the centre of a sunny border or in patio containers. Ideal as a backdrop for other plants. Particularly other rock-garden loving alpines and dwarf spring bulbs such as aconites and anemones.

Did You Know?

Iberis are close cousins of brassicas like cabbages and mustards. The common name candytuft is derived from Candia, an old name for both the island of Crete and its capital, which is now called Heraklion, during its time as a colony of Venice from around 1212 until its conquest by the Ottoman Empire in the war of 16451669.
