Clematis 'Bees Jubilee'

'Bees Jubilee' Clematis are a beautiful variety that produces masses of stunning large soft pink flowers, which intensify with their striking crimson bars. These make a delightful and unusual cut flower.

A really versatile clematis, it can be grown in sun or partial shade, where the colour of the flower is said to intensify. A hard worker it, will flower through May, June and September providing a really valuable splash of colour throughout the growing season.

'Bees Jubilee' was bred in 1958 to celebrate 25 years of Bees of Chester, a nursery started by Arthur Kilpin Bulley. He was responsible for funding many trips to far-flung lands, particularly China, on plant and seed collecting expeditions, and is highly regarded for his great contributions to the quest for new plants and varieties.

'Bees Jubilee' Clematis can be grown easily following our Clematis planting tips.

  • Can be planted facing any aspect provided it is sheltered from winds. Likes partial shade.
  • Soil must be well drained but moist and fertile.
  • Requires support through wires, trellis or frame.
  • Particularly effective when planted with another vigorous climber such as a climbing or rambling rose.

  • Can be planted in a large container in good quality compost. Must be fed regularly through growing season.
