Boom Boom White: Ball Dahlia Tubers

The classy Dahlia Boom Boom White is one of the best white ball dahlias you can grow for your garden. The neatly rounded, tightly packed clusters of petals have a hint of greenish-yellow at the centre. This prolific bloomer produces flowers 10cm across but if you pinch out some of the buds, you'll get even bigger flowers, up to 15cm in diameter. Plants are compact, about 1m tall with fresh, green foliage which sets off the flowers perfectly.

This is one of the best dahlias for cutting. Thanks to their strong, thick stems, they'll last for five days. Florists absolutely love them for wedding arrangements and bouquets.

Growing Boom Boom White Dahlias

All dahlias do best in deep rich soil with good drainage in a sunny spot. If it is windy they will need staking. They are greedy, thirsty plants so will need watering in dry spells, and they will always flower that little bit better if there is a bit of soluble food in the watering can once every couple of weeks.

It is generally more convenient to put support stakes in at planting time, rather than leaving it until there is foliage in the way.
