A fimbriated dahlia, which means the petals are split and twisted at the tips, giving each flower the look of a firework caught mid-burst. Named after its Dutch breeder (sometimes spelled Reijmans), the possessive form confirms it's a person, not a place. The colour is warm orange streaked with red and yellow, and the split tips scatter the colours like sparks.
At 110cm with strong, upright stems, it makes an excellent cut flower. The unusual petal form is a talking point in any arrangement. Fimbriated types are relatively uncommon in mainstream commerce, so this is one of the more distinctive dahlias in the range. It flowers from July to November.
The warm, fiery colours work alongside hot-scheme companions. Plant with Rip City (deep red semi-cactus, 120cm) for a dramatic pairing of unusual petal forms. Brown Sugar (paprika ball, 90cm in front) picks up the warm orange. Ambition (magenta-purple fimbriated semi-cactus, 100cm) provides a colour contrast while sharing the split-petal character.
Our dahlia tubers are Dutch first-class quality, imported direct and hand-graded by us. We reject undersized tubers so you get a clump with viable eyes, ready to grow. Delivered by next-day courier from March, with our one-year plant guarantee, Which? Best Plant Supplier, and human support from the team in Somerset. Browse the complete dahlia collection.
The petal tips are split, forked or fringed, creating a shaggy, firework-like texture. It's the same characteristic found on Ambition (semi-cactus) and Pinelands Pam (decorative). Our dahlia types guide explains all the classifications.
Excellent. The strong upright stems and unusual fimbriated form make every stem a talking point. The warm colours mix well with autumn arrangements.
At 110cm it's on the tall side for a container. A large pot with staking will work but it's happier in a border or cutting bed. Our container guide covers the options. Full growing advice in our dahlia growing guide.
