Description

Symphony Late Season Summer Bearing Strawberry Plants

This plant is a trooper that makes plenty of runners to fill up new beds. The flavour is less sweet and more fruity, "old strawberry" style, and the glossy berries are vivid red. They are bred to be resistant to damp conditions.

Growing Symphony Strawberry Plants:

All strawberries love sun and moist rich soil. Read more on how to grow strawberries. With varieties that make a lot of runners in particular, remove unwanted ones early, and it is recommended to remove the ones you want to keep and plant elsewhere as soon as 1-2mm of root nodule appears, rather than let them root on the runner. This helps the mother plant to store energy for continuously increasing crops up to the 3rd year.

Did You Know?

This modern gem is from the Scottish Crop Research Institute, who were intent on making a classic tasting strawberry on a vigorous plant that would resist problems arising from damp conditions in both warm and cold areas: a real symphony of genetic splendour. One trial showed good resistance to vine weevil.
