Varieties of Lime Trees - Tilia Species
Limes or Lindens are vigorous, tough, medium to large sized trees that are happy being pollarded and generally cut back hard, which makes them perfect for planting beside the road in the city, where space is limited. They also make outstanding avenue trees and few large specimens look better in a parkland or large garden setting. Lime trees will grow on any averagely fertile soil. They are hardy, suitable for exposed locations and immune to air pollution and the varieties we sell vary in height between 10-30 metres unless they are pleached or pollarded.
