Pre-Order Bareroot Countryside Stewardship Hedge Packs For 2025/26 Winter September Season

You can buy any mix of native hedge plants to create your own Countryside Stewardship hedge, as long as no one species makes up more than 70% of the total, but you will save time and money with these ready-made hedge packs.

Your mail order Countryside Stewardship hedge plants are delivered by next working day courier.

What is the Difference Between The Countryside Stewardship Pack, Economy Pack, and Conservation Pack? 

All our native hedge mixes qualify for the Countryside Stewardship grants (e.g. BN11: Planting new Hedges), as long as they are planted in a double row at 6 plants per metre.

The most popular native hedge mixes are:

Countryside Stewardship Hedging, 2 species mix: 

  • The cheapest hedge pack that complies with the grant requirements.
  • Sold in packs of 50 plants, containing 2 species (50% Hawthorn, 50% Blackthorn), 40-60cm tall.
  • Also available in a 5 species mix for extra wildlife value.

Mixed Country Hedging Economy Pack

  • The second cheapest hedge pack that complies with the grant requirements.
  • Sold in packs of 250 plants containing 4 species (70% Hawthorn), 40-60cm tall.

Mixed Conservation Hedging has three versions: Hawthorn Based (the most popular), Blackthorn Based (traditional for sheep enclosures), or Blackthorn-free Stock Friendly Hedging (recommended for horse or cattle pasture).

  • All of them greatly increase the wildlife capacity of your country hedge. 
  • Sold in packs of 50 plants containing 6 species, either 60-80cm or 90-120cm tall.
