Description

Falconet Daffodil Bulbs

Narcissus Falconet brings a fanfare of colour to spring borders and container displays with its fragrant yellow flowers and bright orange trumpets. Each stem ends in a cluster of up to eight blooms, making this Tazetta daffodil a real star performer in the garden. Falconet is best grown near paths or doorways so the enticingly sweet scent can be appreciated as you move around the garden. Combining well with any of our large range of daffodils, this beautiful multi-headed variety is easy to grow and will enhance your spring border displays for many years to come.

Growing Falconet

These daffodils thrive in well drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun. Plant in early autumn at about twice their own depth, 7-10cm apart, adding plenty of organic matter first. Falconet is an ideal variety to naturalise under trees and in grass. Deadhead faded flowers and remove foliage only once it has died back. Like all daffodils, it benefits from an application of general fertiliser in spring.

In your Garden

These spring beauties are perfect for underplanting with deciduous trees like birches, cherries or rowan where they will happily naturalise and persist for many years to come. They also combine well with other spring bulbs like tulips which will help to lengthen the season of interest and cover the dying foliage until the herbaceous perennials take over later in the spring.

Planting Instructions

Falconet Daffodils prefer well drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun, although they can tolerate light shade. Plant in early autumn at about twice their own depth, 7-10cm apart, adding plenty of organic matter first. Falconet naturalises happily under trees and in lawns. Deadhead after flowering and remove foliage once it has died back. Daffodils benefit from a general fertiliser in spring.
