Description
Crimson Glory Climbing Rose
The Crimson Glory Rose has sumptuous, velvet red flowers that swirl into a star shape with the yellow anthers in the centre just peeking out. This is a beautifully scented rose - the fragrance is rich and heady - a real treat. While Crimson Glory roses are not free repeat flowerers (they were bred in 1946 before breeders had cracked repeat flowering fully), with prompt dead-heading immediately after the first flush you can expect a second show in late summer.
A number of roses do better that others on poorer soil, and Crimson Glory is a good vigorous climber for less rich ground where it will grow to 3-4 metres. In rich soil it can top 5 metres.
