Windflowers are classic partners with Snake's head Fritillaries, which start flowering as the Anemones are starting to wind down.
They're not fussy about where they grow: anywhere with decent drainage and some sun is fine. They're happy in heavy clay on the top of slopes and other sites that don't get waterlogged in winter.
