Hyacinths are the most fragrant spring bulbs you can grow. This mix of three varieties — we select from our range, which includes varieties like Delft Blue, Carnegie, and Fondant — gives you a trio of colours and a combined scent that fills a border or a room. Each pack contains three different varieties, chosen for quality and colour contrast at the time of dispatch.
At 25cm, hyacinths are front-of-border or container plants. They are one of the best bulbs for pots by a front door — the scent greets you every time you come home. Plant in groups of three or five of the same colour for the strongest visual effect, or mix all three varieties together for a cottage-garden scatter.

Hyacinths are excellent for indoor forcing. Plant in a bulb bowl or glass vase in October, keep cool and dark for eight to ten weeks, then bring into warmth and light. Flowers appear in December or January — weeks ahead of outdoor bulbs.
They do, though the flower spike becomes looser and less dense after the first year. Many gardeners plant fresh each autumn for the best indoor display and let last year's bulbs naturalise in the garden, where the more relaxed form actually looks better.
