Crataegus Rosea Flore Pleno is a small pink hawthorn tree, raised from Britain's two native Hawthorns, a great specimen suitable for almost any garden.
Its blooms have a double row of petals, like miniature roses in a light, bright shade of pink. The glorious mass of blossoms comes in late spring, filling the air around the tree with their distinctive scent. In autumn, the attractive, small red fruit called haws decorate the tree for a while, and the birds take them.

Delivery season: Hawthorn trees are delivered bareroot from late autumn to early spring, November to April, and pot-grown in any month when in stock.

Growing Pink Hawthorn

Very hardy. Almost any soil, damp, poor, or dry. Suitable for large containers designed for trees. Full sun or partial shade is best for the flower display. Tolerant of pollution and sea winds.

Like the rest of its family, it's pretty much disease and pest free; all that is needed is to protect it from rabbits and deer while relatively young.

History & Trivia

This tree is the parent of the popular red flowering variety, Paul's Scarlet. It was cultivated in the 1830's and since then has been widely used in parks, streets, and ornamental gardens. In 1993, it was given the RHS's Award of Garden Merit.

Standard trees are measured by their girth in centimetres 1 metre above ground level: their trunk's waist measurement. Unlike sapling trees and hedge plants, standards aren't measured by their height, which will vary quite a bit both between and within species.
So, a 6/8cm standard tree has a trunk with a circumference of 6-8cm and an 8/10 standard has a trunk 8-10cm around. This measurement makes no difference to the tree's final height.
