Cardinal de Richelieu Roses

Cardinal de Richelieu shrub roses are gallica roses, old roses that add a touch of class to any border. The blooms are some of the darkest of all roses; the colour begins as a mauve pink bud, before blooming and turning a deep rich purple. The flowers themselves are beautifully formed and sit dotted around amongst deep glossy green, bushy foliage.

The scent is that of a classic rose, making Cardinal de Richelieu roses ideal for providing cut flowers as well as being great subjects for shrubbery, bed, border or courtyard garden. However if this is not the rose for you, why not browse the hundreds of other rose varieties we sell.

Great for your garden

Cardinal de Richelieu rose bushes like to be planted in full sun, in well drained, moist soil. Because of its compact nature it works very well in courtyard and city gardens, but is equally happy in a country garden border. The stems have few thorns and the flowers are distributed in small clusters during the summer when it is in bloom. The plant can generally grow to around 4 ft.
