Cucumis sativus Burpless Tasty Green F1 Cucumber Plants, p9 Pots

Burpless Tasty Green is one of the all-time great outdoor varieties for home growers. It is reliable even in cloudy summers, the flavour is light, slightly sweet, with no trace of bitterness, and the texture is about as crisp and juicy as they come.

Browse all of our Cucurbit family vegetables, or all of our herbs and vegetables.

  • Type: Outdoor
  • Insect pollinated: do not remove male flowers.
  • Dark, knobbly fruit. Good flavour, no bitterness.
  • Crops June - October
  • F1 Hybrid
  • Position: Full sun, sheltered.
  • Soil: Rich, moist, well drained.

Growing Burpless Tasty Green Cucumbers

Outdoor cucumbers require a sunny spot with rich, well drained, but consistently moist soil (our Rocket Gro fruit & veg compost is ideal for digging into your vegetable patch). To reduce the risk of disease, always water the soil directly, not the plants themselves.

When fruit starts to form, feed your plants every 14 days with our tomato feed.

This is a self-fertile variety that requires insects to move the pollen from the male flowers to the female ones.
