President de Seze is a small old shrub rose with fragrant magenta flowers fading out to pink at the edges and is ideal for mixed borders. As with many shrub roses, although it is an old variety, President de Seze has the valuable qualities of lovely flowers, great scent and disease resistance making it a valuable member of our range of shrub roses for sale.
President de Seze is a delightful old gallica rose bred around 1836. The very attractive deep magenta/purple buds open to exquisite large full flowers of magenta fading to a paler pink around the edges.
The foliage is a grey-green and the whole plant is very healthy and the flowers scented. It is a relatively small rose, reaching a height of approximately 4', and has just one flush.
Great for your garden
President de Seze, in common with many shrub roses that only have one flush, is best when associated with other plants in a mixed border.
It looks wonderful planted with penstemons, which are later summer flowering perennials, such as Sour Grapes and salvias in the blue and pink ranges when the flower colours of the shrub rose can really shine.
